A Joint World of Games and Creativity
A nine-month project “A Joint World of Games and Creativity” is being realized by the Association for Protection and Promotion of Mental Health in Children and Youth from Niš together with the Boarding School for High School Pupils and a primary school “Radoje Domanović”. Supported by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Serbia.
THE AIMS OF THE PROJECT:
General aim of the project is promotion of disabled persons in South East Serbia by organizing simulating and inclusive programs which would contribute to their independency and strength for everyday life.
Specific aim of the project is strengthening the disabled children who live in the Boarding school for High School Pupils and pupils from primary school “Ratko Vukićević” by developing their skills for making ceramic objects and stimulating their creative ability on workshops and recreational activities, using inclusive approach.
TARGET GROUP:
– 34 disabled children from the Boarding school
– 20 children from regular primary school
– all the other users of Boarding school
THE LENGTH OF THE PROJECT:
From July 2009 to April 2010
ACTIVITIES:
– Friendship Camp, 20 participants (10 from Boarding school and 10 from primary school)
– Ceramic workshops, 20 participants (10 from Boarding school and 10 from primary school)
– Individual work with children from Boarding school
– Recreational activities, walks and visits
– Exhibition for ceramic works in the last month of the project
THE OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT: acquired skills of both target groups for making ceramic objects, independency and self-confidence, socializing with the peers from the city, better psychophysical state, collapse of prejudices and social inclusion.
IMPLEMENTATION
Inclusive Camp, which lasts 6 days, is held from 25th to 31st of August 2009 in Lipovac for 22 children from the Boarding School for High School Pupils and a regular primary school “Radoje Domanović” in Niš with the aim of establishing good communication and cooperation between the two groups of children who will participate together in the ceramic workshop and recreational activities in the following period. During their several-day-stay in countryside, the children had different educative and creative activities, such as: workshops about healthy lifestyles, drawing and painting landscapes, dance course, a night around campfire, recreational activities and acquainting themselves with the environment. This Friendship Camp is later used as a starting point for the project “A Joint World of Games and Creativity”. Organization of the Camp is supported by The City of Niš, Ltd. Delta Matic and OMV.

Since the beginning of September, ceramic workshops, which connected disabled children from the Boarding school and children from regular primary school “Radoje Domanović”, are held regularly on the premises of Boarding school for High School Pupils two times a week. The workshops are held in the afternoon and supported by the trainers: Mileta Koceva i Danijele Tričković.
